Educators with their own art or writing practice are invited to apply for summer residency and retreat opportunities.
Painting Residency for Educators
Educators of students who receive a regional award in any art or writing category are invited to apply to the GOLDEN Educators Residency, a two-week summer artists’ residency in a sylvan setting in upstate New York. Sponsored by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, Golden Artists Colors, and the Sam & Adele Golden Foundation, this residency offers educator-artists the opportunity to unplug, experiment with unique materials and technologies, and focus on developing their own artistic practice. Applications open in March, following the announcement of regional award winners.
Writers Retreat for Educators
Educator–writers of students who receive a regional award in any writing or art category are invited to apply to the Writers Retreat for Educators, in collaboration with the Kenyon Review. Four selected educator-writers will join other participants for an online, seven-day summer workshop series to hone their writing and teaching practices. Made possible by the Dr. Ernest B. Fleishman Educators’ Fund, each selected educator will also be provided with a $200 stipend. Applications open in February, following the announcement of regional award winners.
