Regional Awards Programs
The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers is proud to partner with dozens of local arts, culture, and educational institutions who serve as regional Affiliate Partners, and administer the Scholastic Awards at the regional level.
The Alliance directly serves as the administrator for Region-at-Large, a “remote region” which encompasses all eligible participants who do not have a local Regional Affiliate. A list of all Region-at-Large sub-regions is provided below, along with a list of Regional Affiliate Partners, organized by state. The Scholastic Awards serve teens in all 50 states, U.S. territories, U.S. military bases, and Canada (excluding Quebec).
Input your school’s zip code to the Region Finder Tool above to determine your region—this may be part of Region-at-Large, or associated with a regional Affiliate. If you are homeschooled or attend a virtual school, input your home zip code. Remember to check both your art and writing regions!
Region-at-Large
Many states that are part of Region-at-Large also have a regional Affiliate Partner administering the Awards in some geographic areas. Use the Region Finder Tool at the top of this page to confirm your region(s)!
Region-at-Large is broken down into the following sub-regions:

Regional Affiliate Partners
Many states have a combination of regional Affiliate Partners who cover certain geographic areas, and Region-at-Large covers the remaining areas.
Use the Region Finder Tool at the top of this page to confirm your region(s). Do not assume your region(s) based on name alone!
If you do not see any regional Affiliate Partners listed for your state, this means all participants in your state will participate in the Scholastic Awards as part of Region-at-Large.
Become a Partner
The Alliance seeks to forge partnerships with local organizations to expand student and educator access to the Awards. If you are interested in learning more about becoming an Affiliate Partner in your region, please click the ‘learn more’ button below.
