Scholarships

Receive scholarships, cash awards, or tuition assistance by participating in the Awards! 

Scholarships and Cash Awards

National Medalists are eligible for scholarships of up to $12,500. 

Portfolio Scholarships  

High school seniors submitting a portfolio of six works are eligible for scholarships of up to $12,500.  

New York Life Award

Works about personal grief, loss, and bereavement are eligible for scholarships of up to $2,000.  

The Herblock Award for Editorial Cartoon

Art works offering commentary or criticism on current events, social issues, or political topics are eligible for $2,000 scholarships.  

Educator Awards

Educators of national award winners are also eligible for cash awards.

Tuition Scholarships

Students recognized at the regional or national level can receive tuition assistance for summer programs or higher education. 

Scholarships for Summer Programs

The Scholastic Awards Summer (SAS) Scholarship Program provides students full-tuition scholarships to attend summer art or writing programs.  

College and University Scholarships

The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers partners with colleges and universities to earmark scholarships for college-bound Scholastic Awards winners. Each university has the final decision-making authority on awarding scholarships.

Please note that when reviewing your financial aid offer the Scholastic Awards Scholarship may be incorporated into your financial aid package at the initial point of the offer and will not constitute an additional offer.
