Students receiving a Silver Medal in the 2019 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards must undertake some important steps in order to accept their award.

Next Steps for Silver Medalists
Students must submit a Release Form for EACH work that earned a National Medal. The Release Form allows the Scholastic Awards to publish, exhibit, and share your student’s work. Students and their parent/guardian must sign and return the Release Form(s) to accept their award(s).
Log into the student’s Scholastic Awards account to access the Release Form.
Send the signed form to the Scholastic Awards National Office:

Subject line: National Medal Release Form
Students must upload:
- A photo self-portrait (have your student wear their Gold Key Pin!)
- An audio message discussing the inspiration for their awarded work(s), and, if they received a National Medal for writing, a recording of them reading a short excerpt of the awarded work
- Videos celebrating their award!
