Art.Write.Now 2013 National Exhibition



Art.Write.Now.2013 National Exhibition featured the top award-winning art and writing from teens across the United States, identified through the prestigious Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

The Awards’ 2013 judges included Andres Serrano, Peter S. Beagle, Red Grooms, Horatio Sanz, Jane Cohan, Edwidge Danticat, and Matthew Higgs. The exhibition spanned two locations and showcased more than 550 visual and literary works from students in grades 7–12. On display were works of film, animation, 2D and 3D artworks, e-readers, video games, and video greetings from the students, which together created a dynamic and interactive look for the 90th year of this renowned exhibition.

These creative teens follow in the footsteps of past Scholastic Awards recipients Andy Warhol, John Baldessari, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Edward Sorel, Robert Redford, Joyce Carol Oates, Ken Burns, and this year’s Alumni Achievement Award Honoree, Zac Posen, as well as many others.
