Showcasing works by creative teens has been at the forefront of the Scholastic Awards’ mission since its founding in 1923. Through recognition, exhibitions, and publications, we give students the confidence and support they need to develop their creative talents and become life-long artists and writers.

Each year, we produce a National Catalog featuring Gold Medal works from the Scholastic Awards. In addition, we publish our annual anthology, The Best Teen Writing, to showcase the literary talents of our students. Both books are distributed to schools, libraries, and art and writing organizations around the country free of charge. Visit our publications page to learn more.
Recognizing student talent is a crucial part of the Scholastic Awards. Our National Ceremony in New York City is attended by hundreds of students, educators, and their families and headlined by notable Alums and famous celebrities.
