Yes to the statues for the firefighters; of course, there will be monuments to the police force. But what of the principals, the teachers, and all the others who have made and will continue to make the schools safe and wise places in this unheralded year? Some of them bought butcher paper and paints, or set aside the reading book for writing poems.
