Chris Bannon, Alumnus 1981

The Inside Story
The Alliance recently reconnected with Chris Bannon (’81, Humor), who is now serving as Program Director for WNYC FM/AM, the largest and most listened to public radio station in the U.S., with over 1 million weekly listeners. Early in his public radio career, Chris served as Marketing Director for Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion, and he was also the Producer of another national comedy show, Michael Feldman’s Whad’Ya Know? At WNYC, Chris has been Executive Producer of Soundcheck and The Leonard Lopate Show, as well as Co-Executive Producer of PRI’s The Next Big Thing. This past year Chris returned to his Scholastic Writing Awards roots, serving as a national judge for our Humor category.
