Your application is not complete until you mail or drop-off your signed submission forms and payment (if applicable) according to the instructions below.

Please make Purchase Orders and checks payable to: N.E.A.E.C. ( New England Art Education Conference, Inc.).

Do NOT mail cash with the submission forms!

Quotas:  All Massachusetts secondary teachers may each submit 20 student works reflecting any one or more than one of the writing genres included in the program.  Although not a requirement, we encourage teachers to submit work from a number of different students.  Submitting more than five (5) manuscripts by an indvidual student is looked upon as unproductive and not representational of an instructional program.  Teachers should determine who represent their respective schools by selecting diverse student work.

Teachers who work in Out of School instructional programs can submit 20 student manuscripts.  We also encourage these teachers to limit one student's work to five (5) manuscripts.

Students whose work is not being submitted by a teacher and who are not representing a public, private or parochial school program or Out of School program, may enter the program as a Home School student.   Home School students can submit one piece per writing genre individual caetgories.

All senior students may submit up to three portfolios.  One is each of the following categories:  Art Portfolio; Photography Portfolio; and Writing Portfolio.  The portfolios can be submitted through their teacher or as a Home School student.

All images must be labeled with student name, category and title. Students and teachers must use accurate e-mail addresses when registering on line. All reporting of judging results will be sent to participants as e-mails. We will need to have a valid and active e-mail address for all participants in a school or personal server that accepts blind copy (bcc) mailings.  It is also important that names are entered into the ORS using correct upper and lower case letters.  The system does not automatically capitalize proper names.

We are sending out a pre-registration information mailing in the early fall. It you do not get one by the end the September, call 617-973-7290 to request one. You can also go to www.massarted.com to get additional information.

Notification

All participating teachers and students will be notifed of award winning work by a BCC e-mail on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.  An Award Winners list will be attached to the e-mail.

The results will be posted on the Massachusetts Art Education Association web site (massarted.com) and at the national program website (artandwriting.org).  The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers will announce all regional winners on February 15, 2012.

We will need to have a valid and active e-mail address for all participants in a school or personal server that accepts blind copy (bcc) mailings.
